Countries that recognize the State of Palestine
If these font sizes don’t speak to the relative value of Palestinian life, I don’t know what does.
In addition to the font size, its also the language surrounding the deaths.
Not only do we know of the two Israelis, but also their occupation (they were soldiers sent to kill) and where they were killed.
Over 300 Palestinians are just referred to as deaths. Anything that was once alive could die. Animals, foliage, etc. They couldn’t even say Palestinians. Even acknowledging the identity of the colonized and allotting them basic humanity is too provocative. No location, no root of cause (because then it’d have to be understood that Israeli aggression is indeed at fault). Just 330 deaths. It all exists in a detached vacuum.
But it does refer back to Hamas. No matter what happens to Palestinians, its implicitly suggested that Hamas is to blame. Everything Israel does is reactionary under the normalization of Zionist brutality. To someone who doesn’t understand the nature of Israeli settler colonialist violence, this could very well be understood as Hamas killing Palestinians. The only mention of Israel is through a victim narrative.

"You can’t just change the race of cultural icons like Captain America! It’s an important part of their identity and message!"
Jesus: Ah yes.
Jesus: Can’t imagine who would do that.
Jesus: What a shame.
COOL PRANK: push a rich person off a cliff and as they’re dangling there struggling to keep their grip give them a long lecture about how no one ever gave you a hand, they just need to learn to work hard and pull themselves up like the rest of us
I can’t believe she said this
Omfg please I prayed for this

most classic novels are classics because they were written by old white men for other white men. so, like, don’t ever feel bad for not reading them
i was gonna ask why in anti rape ads the dudes are always like “these women are our wifes, daughters, sisters, mothers” but they never call them people instead of defining them by their relation to men but i know exactly why
"These women are ours."
because it’s adam and steve, not adam and capitalism
TransCuba: Photographer Mariette Pathy Allen Explores a Hidden Havana SubcultureFor more than 30 years, New York based photographer and painter Mariette Pathy Allenhas been documenting transgender culture worldwide; in 2004 she won the Lambda Literary Award for her monograph The Gender Frontier. In her new publication, TransCuba, Allen focuses on the transgender community of Cuba, especially its growing visibility and acceptance in a country whose government is transitioning into a more relaxed model of communism under Raúl Castro’s presidency. An excerpt from Mariela Castro Espin, who is the director of the Cuban National Center for Sex Education in Havana, is included in the book: “We dedicate this day to families because we want families to be conscious of their great social responsibility, so that all of our families, all of the people with the great social responsibility of being a parent, realize that their can’t be any form of discrimination in the family, discrimination based in the prejudice that we’ve inherited from dominant societies.”(source)
